Limit Coffee to Reduce Health Risks

The best part of waking up…you know the rest. Most people can barely function without at least one cup of joe in the morning, and some days may even merit two or three. However, according to a recent study, you should stop there.

Carl J. Lavie, MD, of the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute in New Orleans, says that we should have less than four cups a day. This recent study showed that people who drank 28+ cups of this morning delight each week had a risk of death at 21%, which was higher than those who drank less each week. Surprisingly, those who were younger than 55 and drank 28+ cups a week have an even higher risk at 56%.

So, next time you reach to pour yourself that extra cup or head to the nearest cafe, ask yourself if you really need it.
